We've Arrived!
The past month and a half, for lack of a better word, has been rich.  Time with God was especially refreshing time with friends, despite the goodbyes, was fun and encouraging.  Just before we moved, we were reminded at a seminar of spiritually healthy habits and perspective.  We left Phnom Penh excited to get started in a new place and new ministry.

Since our arrival in Siem Reap, weve been having teething troubles as our British colleagues would say.  Problems with our well, with blackouts, with communication, with the house but in the Lords grace, we felt prepared for this second moving-in experience.  Weve just about finished our unpacking.  Ben has started school and Jon will follow the last week in October.  The international school has made some improvements in security we think the boys will do well there.

Were still thinking about what to fill our time with weve met with a young couple Sait and Suin who are from a town called Moung about four hours from Siem Reap town.  We hope to get to know them better and be an encouragement to them.   Were both considering getting involved with Angkor Childrens Hospital we keep stepping forward and stepping back most recently, Ive been thinking about our missions desire to see pastors bi-vocational.  This means that because the churches are too small to support a pastor, the pastor has another job.  So in order to help model this to the church leadership, perhaps we too should be bi-vocational, even if we are volunteering.  Please pray with us regarding these decisions.

November brings a visit from a missionary in Thailand who helps with the childrens program at Bethel Church in Phnom Penh.  Were still passing the reins of Bethel over to Samol.  Hes doing well and is accepting a great deal of responsibility with grace.  There will also be a medical/dental team coming from the US to work with the Siem Reap churches the last week of the month.  Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers in our move and settling in.

Blessings,

David, Lara and the boys
The boys and the transition
So I heard youre moving to Hong Kong was the greeting by one of Bens classmates parents.  Hong Kong?  Why would Ben tell people were moving to Hong Kong?   Disneyland!  Hes been bombarded by commercials here for the grand opening of Hong Kong Disneyland.  I guess he figured if he had to move, it might as well be somewhere exciting!
The boys have also renamed our dog, Poopy (puppy in Khmer) to Kona (Uncle Dereks dogs name).  Not sure what else will be next they seem to enjoy sleeping in their tent (mosquito net) and theyre very happy we brought all their toys!
