| Praise! - Progress with our language skills - we both passed our nine month evaluations! - Growing relationships with the Khmer people - Champus Keak clinic opening ceremony Feb 14th - Excellent site visits in February to two Community Health Evangelism (CHE) sites in Siem Reap - Good conversations with our landlord, his family, and some of our neighbors - The Lords daily provision here in Cambodia! Prayer Points Wisdom and direction with Hallelujah Clinic in Champus Keak What were considering at present: - National staff (including a physician) offering low cost medical care five half days per week - Christian outreach through literature, waiting room videos, and a full time Christian Impact coordinator - Possible youth programs and an investigative Bible study - A community-based development project (CHE) led by national volunteers What we need prayer for: - Effectively communicating with and involving the clinics Board of Directors in the process - Finding and retaining appropriate staff - Making decisions regarding funding (and procuring it) - Organizing Christian groups for ministry and follow-up toward the goal of a local church in the village - Developing a plan for the implementation of the community development project Other areas of involvement - After we complete our first phase/year of language study in April, we will still continue in half-time study - David has started teaching medical students through reviewing medical literature with them (journal club) - Lara plans to work with a regional orthotic/prosthetic (artificial limb) training center teaching, doing medical screening and wound care - Lara may assume the OMF Cambodia medical responsibilities from David Finding a new helper to watch the children - Weve been looking for someone who can both engage the children and teach them some Khmer - Because we raise our children differently from the Khmer, finding someone has been difficult Wisdom regarding our trip to the States in June/July 2004 - David will take his medical boards and we both need required continuing medical education; everyone needs some vacation - Pray that well know where to spend time and for how long Thank you for standing with us through your prayers! |
