| IV. JESUS:God and Son of God, Part3 I will now briefly finish up the question of whether Jesus is God. If we say that "begotten" has a spiritual meaning. Given the following verses. John 4:24: God is a spirit: and they that worship Him must worship him in Spirit and Truth. John 1: 18: No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. John:3:6: That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. If we say that Jesus is "begotten" of God, then Jesus is "born of the Spirit" because "God is a spirit" and "No man hath seen God at any time". "The only begotten Son which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him". Again, literally, Jesus is not in the bosom of the Father, but figuratively, symbolically he is. With this, the following verses are clear. John10:30: I and my Father are one. John Chapter 14: 9: Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 10: Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11: Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. 12: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13: And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14: If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Verse 10 says it all. Once again, Jesus is God, because the Father dwelleth in him, and he in the Father. And Jesus, of himself, doeth not the works, but the Father. This explains it all to me. Jesus by himself, can do nothing, but the Father can do anything. Jn:5:30: I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. In closing this segment, there is a distinct difference between Jesus and God, and one can say that Jesus is not God, but since the Father dwells in him, then Jesus is God. |
