Are miracles a "proof"? Mt:24:24: For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Okay, so false Christs and false prophets can do miracles (great signs and wonders). 1Cor:12:28: And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. So it?s possible for ?common folk? to do miracles..... Jn:6: 26: Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. If you have your Bible handy, please read John:6:26-35. This is an interesting passage to me because Jesus is to me, basically, saying "it's not about the physical food or the miracle". Jn:12:37: But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: Mk:8:12: And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation. In John:12:37, Miracles have failed to be proof enough for people to believe in Jesus, and in Mark 8:12 Jesus laments this generation's need for a sign. It's my understanding that the most wonderful miracle of all to Christians was the Resurrection. There will be some talk about the Resurrection on these pages, but I think the next most important topic to go to is about intrepretation of the Bible. |
