Genuine Product or
Imitation?
Back to
Product Education Page
In order to determine whether a product is an imitation, the authentic one
should be referenced. The
box of the Day Cream has violet blue, gold and
burgundy red colors. The violet blue makes up 60%, and the burgundy red makes up
20%. The gold foil strip separates the blue and red sections and occupies 20% of
the face of the box. The first important thing to look for is the Valanna®
just above the "Whitening Sunblock Cream (Day Cream)" in the blue
section (See Figure 1.A). The second important thing to look for is a flowery
background in the burgundy red section (See Figure 1.B). The third
important thing to look for is a two line date at the bottom of
the box. The first line is the manufacturing date and the second line is the
expiration date (See Figure 2). The last thing is the ridges on the gold
foil strip that can be felt by your fingers. The whole box is shiny in
color.
When the box is opened, the inside of the box has the same flowery background in
burgundy red. There is an additional folded box that is gold color on the
outside and violet blue flowery background on the inside. The gold
on the outside has a big 88 in a circle. There is also small 88
and Valanna printed all over (See figure 3):
The jar has a hot pink cap and a rainbow colored
stamped on top. There is a gold ring around the jar below the cap, and a white
p on the inside when the cap is opened (See Figure 4).

At the
bottom of the jar is a blue, red and gold sticker. There is a red circle in the
middle that has a gold 88 symbol, and Valanna printed in the blue section
towards the outside of the sticker (See Figure 5A). The last important
distinction of an authentic product is an engraved 88®Valanna® symbol
just above the sticker at the base of the jar, and it can be felt
by your fingers when touched (See Figure 5B).
