Ketchikan Team Wins State Championship

Ketchikan Major League All-Stars defeated Anchorage's Diamond West 5 to 3 to take the State title in Sitka Wednesday night. They will be traveling to San Bernadino, California next week to play in the Western Regional finals. Ketchikan went into the State finals undefeated, and remained undefeated. The team received great pitching by both Tyler Richardson and Casey Bass, and great catching by Brian Brown. Throughout the regional games as well as in the State finals, all members of the team had outstanding moments.

In the final game Wednesday night, Ketchikan trailed by two runs in the fifth inning when a great hit by B.J. Pahang brought in the runners. Ketchikan was able to keep Anchorage from scoring, and a fantastic play by Jesse Lebeau ended the game with outs on third and first. Tyler Richardon pitched the whole game, with great fielding by the infielders and outfielders.

The manager of the team is Fred Bass and the coaches are Pat Brown and Bob Lebeau. Members of the team are Charles Altman, Casey Bass, Derek Clark, Brian Brown, Brandon Eubanks, Paul Henry, Corey Howe, Jesse Lebeau, Thomas Montgomery, B.J. Pahang, Brandon Pilcher, Branson Quint, Tyler Richardson, and Austin Wolf.
