Parade a Success

by Dave Lieben

Even though the promised sunshine never materialized, and the drizzle got a little heavy at times, it was not enough to dampen the enthusiasm of participants or spectators at Ketchikan's annual 4th of July parade.

This year's parade featured over 50 floats. Visiting dignitaries included Senator Ted Stevens, and state Rep. Bill Williams.

The parade appeared to go smoothly this year, at least from this reporter's vantage point downtown. Kudos go to Angela Salazar and Cathy LeCompte for their fine work organizing this year's parade.
