These poems share the conviction that humans are essentially spiritual beings and that a spiritual reality underlies all of creation, and that creation, in fact, reveals some of this fundamental reality.  As spiritual beings, humans are capable of transformation and any life well lived is a life of transformation.  Without transformation there is no way this farm boy with ADD and dyslexia, who could not read, now has written work published in a dozen countries in four languages.  It is little short of a mircale.  Who am I kidding? It IS a mircale, and the result of a lot of hard work and perseverance.

Because of the human capacity for transformation, we can who we appear to be at first into someone we would prefer to be.  The acquisition of virtues and actions based on spiritual principles will result in transformation.  Patience is also necessary.  Patience with yourselt mosf of all.

I hope you will find the poems in this book interesting, enlightening and helpful.

Sincerely,

Duane L. Herrmann
