ARIA
Somewhere around the corner, just beyond the edge of perception, lies a world you never dreamed existed... A world where creatures of ancient myth, and gods long thought dead, walk unnoticed among the crowded streets of Manhattan. Where ladies of Faerie dance lonely nights away, bathed in soft neon glare. Where every shadow holds a secret, and every secret has a price. Where danger and wonder can be found at any turn, if you only know where to look. ~Aria comic cover

Aria is the story of a faery princess, Kildare, living in modern day New York. Depending of the story arc you pick up, the times and places described are differant. This is a title that is really nice for anyone who has a hard time jumping into the middle of comic series. Each set of books is between two and five comics long and each story is both independant and intertwined beautifully with the others so that someone reading the Summer's Spell story does not need to know about the Aria Angela story, for example, but having read both will allow you in on certain comments that might be off handedly made by the characters. The stories also don't have to be read in any sort of order either. They were even written in chronological order, jumping through the differant time periods and differant places for each story arc. I guess that is an advantage of haveing immortals as characters. Below are the differant story arcs and a brief description of what can be found in them. Since much of this information is based off of my collection, I may have missed stories or missed the number of books in the story. If you see anything wrong, feel free to let me know.
Story name: Aria Number of Books: #4 What happens when immortals die? What happens when evil long thought dead has been reborn? How can a crime that turned one fey made be fixed? Story name: Balnc & Noir Number of Books: #4 The same story from Aria with the original black and white sketches. It is definatly nteresting to see the changes between the color version and the black and white version. Story name: Sketchbook Number of Books: #1 While not really a story, this is instead a collection of some of the beautiful art that is drawn for this comic. Well worth checking out some time. Story name: Summer's Spell Number of Books: #2 In London, the summer of 1966, an old love finds Kildare and, while love may conquer all, Kildare learns, unlike her, not everyone is meant to live forever. This one is probably one of the saddest of the story lines. Story name: The Soul Market Number of Books: #6 When an old aquaintance, Goodfellow, comes to New York, Kildare finds out about an underground soul market is which human souls are bought, sold and traded and one little girl wants her soul back. Story name: The Uses of Enchantment Number of Books: #4 Kildare is invited to the Kingdom of Enchantment, a place she has never heard of in her 900 plus years of life, for a reason that is just as unknown. Story name: Aria Angela Number of Books: #2 This short story is a cross over of the Spawn and Aria worlds, in which Aria discoves a captured angel in England at the end of the 19th century.
