Back
Vash the Stampede, the Humonoid Typhoon, the $60 Billion man.  The guy who doesn't kill and preaches love and peace.  LOVE & PEACE.  Don't ask.  Vash is a lovable guy who just can't seem to get a break.  Since I don't want to spoil anything major for people, I'll just leave it at that.

Umm...donuts?
Nicolas D. Wolfwood, a traveling priest that could have been Vash's twin in personality.  Well, except for that whole, the preacher being willing to kill thing.  And see that cross on his back.  Coolest weapon ever.

"Why is this so heavy?"
"Because it's so full of mercy."

Squee!

Wolfwood gets picked up/saved by Vash in the middle of the desert.  He is apparently out trying to raise money to fund the orphanage that he started.  An orphan himself, the kids are very important to him.  So don't expect a discount when using his portable confessional.
Milly and Meryl, employees of Bernadelli Insurance, whose job it is to follow Vash the Stampede and try and prevent damages to the property in his immediate vicinity.  And these two try really hard to do that.  There was a minor slip up when that one town got utterly destroyed but that wasn't really their fault.

Milly, the tall one, is the smart, naive type.  The youngest of ten brothers and sisters, she writes home a lot.

Meryl is the leader.  Determined and a bit of a workaholic, she is usually the one harrassing Vash the most.  Though it took her awhile to believe it was really him.  Aparently he lacked the right personality for a famous criminal.

I mean, no one can be that stupid, right?  Right?!?!
