Slayer is about Lina Inverse, a sorceress. That is the best way to describe the anime. Lina is hot tempered and has no problem throwing a fireball at people or ordering everything off of a menu in triple portions. There are a variety of other characters that also show up at differant points in the story. Gourry is a swordsman who became her travelling companion after her "saved" her from some bandits and then mistook her for a child. He's adoribly clueless at times and other times knows more about the situation than any one else. He's one of the first to hook up with her (and also featured in the picture above), thus he gets special mention.
I have seen a lot of the earlier episodes but not much of the later stuff so bear with me as I fill in the information on this page.
