Art has been a part of life for "Debbie" for as long as she can remember. Since she was a small girl growing up in
south-eastern Arkansas, she was always drawing or making something, usually horses. Horses and rodeo were the
love of her life. Debbie moved to Wyoming with her family as a teenager where she graduated from high school and
went on to attend Casper College and received an Associates Degree in Commercial Art.
While working in the banking field for many years, Debbie has always painted and sculpted in here spare time. After
much encouragement from family and friends over the years and being inspired by fellow artist Karen Bonnie, Debbie
left banking in October of 2005 to pursue a career in painting. She now devotes full time to her artwork. Debbie has two
sons, Jared and Casey.
She now lives in the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado and shares her home with her sons, three horses, two dogs
and cat. Inspired by the beauty of God's creation of the earth and all its creatures, Debbie paints with oils on canvas.
In her work she likes to capture the unique moments of a blackened sky of a rainstorm or a sunset over the mountains
that are unique to their moment and never to be seen exactly the same way again.
Debbie spends a lot of time trail riding in the areas near her home and says it provides a never-ending supply of
breathaking landscapes, wildlife and things associated with the western way of life. She believes that her talent is a
true gift from God, and that it is only through His provision and plan for her life that she is able to live her dream of
being an artist.
