NIGGAZ vs SATAN- by Don Miguel -------------------------------- If you've heard of RPG Maker 95, you've probably also heard of Don Miguel. This russian computer whizz is the man responsible for translating RPG maker 95 and putting it on the internet for countless RPG enthusiasts to enjoy. As such anyone using this program owes a nod of aknowledgement to this guy. Niggaz vs. Satan (the most confusingly named game I've ever seen) is Don Miguel's most famous and to my knowledge only RPG 95 game. Don Miguel has since turned his attention to RPG 2000 and left RPG 95 to Stifu. Technically the game is excellent, as with Lethrule from the introduction we see that the programmer knows how to get the best from RPG 95. There are some very novel ideas like using phone boxes as save points. There is also some very abstract humour that will be wasted on a British reviewer like me. The plot is fairly simple. There are a lot of sub plots, and the sheer size of the game means there is a lot to do. The flaw with this is that the game is so big I often found myself lost. The only problem I had was the translations. Don't get me wrong, his English is a lot better than my Russian but I just couldn't make sense of the dialogue or the humour. There are quotes from American TV influences like "Beavis and Butthead" which cause a snigger, but the average English speaking gamer will still be confused. Still, the game is technically excellent and displays a true mastery of the program. For the RPG player that seeks a real challenge, look no further. DAN SEZ- 3.5/5
