RICHEY PAINTING
The first four pictures are the Richey painting in the early to nearly finished stages. The final one is the finished article.
"RICHEY" - Generate Terror
The painting that is a portrait of the rhythm guitarist with welsh
rock band: -THE MANIC STREET PREACHERS. It is simply titled: "RICHEY".
Or "Generate Terror". Now to be perfectly honest with you, the pose here
is made to be similar to the poseur who did the cover of the debut album:
"Generation Terrorists". Only the painted image has the twist that can
be sour, bitter, and totally self loathing clown of a quasi-gothic clown
down on his pretty luck.

there are many influences I have incorporated to this piece that derive
from many things from here to there and every where from despair. When
the movie picture poster from the movie : "CHOPPER". Having that the Eric
Bana interpretation had Mr Read with guns in fists; and wit a bright almost
existent halo behind his brutal head. Now Richey was nothing in comparison
to Chopper. Nor was he a good guitarist. In fact he was such a self confessed
"shit" guitarist that the only way we can turn to remember him by is the
words he has written and the way he played himself.
Now as much as I love the music of the MANIC STREET PREACHERS
there is a certain boringness that has emitted itself from Richey's body.
The only thing left is the sadness, despair and only Richey would like
himself to be remembered.
