Out of the picture (on Canvas)
"Out of the Picture"
This is a very detailed description of the painting titled: "Out of
the picture". Student acrylic on canvas. Assisted with spray (can) paint,
P.v.a glue, Artist's own blood.
The story begins with our three kids at a seedy goth club environment.
There is the smoke and darkness that can be seen through the fumes of the
smoke machines and cigarette smokers. A pole difference on the other side
shows that the spotlight is shone on the main protagonist of the portrait.
As the other characters just make up part of the landscape, it is obvious
that we all know who the main character is.
Her hair beautifully red and in all shades crimson, bloody and
dark as the darkness that surrounds her in the club meets her in the middle.
In mid animation her eyes have the strange weirdness that only
that of an experience of a bad bit of a hash-cookie, or the rough cut of
speed with the jitters or possibly on the down. Her eyes flicker
for control. She doesn't have to struggle to find clarity and her breathing
is in no need for question; And her health is fine. All she needs is a
better situation because part of the story lies there with a premise (to
misery) that all we need is love.
Wearing such a tight dress would make squirm and more to make
circulation and jitters to one side. To be at ease. She is adjusting her
right gloved hand. But that is just buying her time. Only for the viewer
that we can see that she is weak at the knees, calves and thighs.
The spotlight may be bright but the it shows a morbid evilness
as it were for the inspiration that was the movie somewhat titled the "master's
piano man's fingers".
The human blood (amongst it) is the human offering needed for
the beast resurrection.
We could be convinced that this is a gothic adolescent story
of puppy lust and pure innocence in mascara and spray-paint. Betrayal and
pure innocence is all there for the taking. Slender bodies are forever
being paraded at the clubs of the night, the modern day Moulin Rouges of
our streets and cities. A Satine for the artist (...I wish!). It's a ritual
that has occurred since the dawn of style and the start of chic. The women,
Drag Queens and kids out there paint their faces with the pin-point accuracy
and splendour. It is the story and the situation that can make it turn
ugly to sour. The woman's left shoulder displays the glare that is being
omitted by the only other female character that is next to her. She is
not getting burnt but in all essences of the term hang around long enough
and she will.
"There are two tragedies in life. One is not to get your heart's desire. The other is to get it"
-George Bernard Shaw.
The other girl or rather a teenager is wearing a blue cat suit. Adding to the formfitting attire is the corset that is at her waist.
Her arm is blood red and the furious demon of a phenomenon. A prime example of influence derives from the influence of the character Johnny Storm from the Marvel Comic Book series, the Fantastic Four.
Of an obvious nature to subconsciously add this and make the painting surreal. The painting virtually painted itself. I kept on adding more overlaying, the expense was not left high and dry as there is detail a plenty.
The fiery arm is displaying the fire in the same way it would like the satellite pictures of the sun's fiery flames.
Feelings of anger, resentment and pure sorrow are also expressed in this subject's stance. The glove can also be seen visible on the side of her brunette head.
Her face is to be painted so humanly skin-toned in vast comparison to the paleness of the other female character's shade of the brightest of white.
"For the female of the species is more deadly than the male".
- Rudyard Kipling.
Last left in the story is the only male character of the painting who can just be seen visible in the background. Behind both the females amongst the smoke and darkness that makes up the club's atmosphere and ambience in the abyss of the dark-side away from the spotlight.
We may never know who or what we may have done to aggravate or unsettle the female characters of the painting. A love triangle that is the perfect scenario, but there is a fourth player but he is out of the picture just like him behind all the smoke, gloom and doom.
"things whose trade is, over ladies/to lean, and flirt, and stare, and
simper/Till all that is divine in women grows cruel, courteous, smooth
inhuman, crucified 'twixt a smile and a whimper".
- Percy Bysshe Shelley.
