1.Introduction

Welcome to the world of waterman, a tough world for a drop of water, like you! Of course waterman isn't your typical super hero, he doesn't have any magical powers, he doesn't even have hands! Waterman is just a little drop of water. When he grows up, he wants to be found in a bottle of Martini... that's why he wears such glasses! Waterman's unbelievable powers are two: Running and jumping! He tries to fullfill his everlasting love for precious gems, so he risks his life in places full of lava, flames, and, of course, gems! After taking waterman under your control you have to walk, run, jump and teleport from platform to platform and collect each gem before time's up. You begin each level with a standard (and usually small) amount of time given. For each gem you collect, you gain 5 seconds. Be careful, though, many times you'll have to leave some gems at one place of the level, and go on to a place where there are more gems. That time you 'll have the time to come back and finish the job...

2.How to play

Waterman can be played either with the keybord, or with a joypad. It can also be played with the joypad exclusively, as the joypad is fully functional in the pre-game environment too.

The controls for waterman are very simple:

Move forward up key up
Move backwards down key down
Turn left left key left
Turn right right key right
Jump Space key Action A or Action B
Pause P key Action C or Action D

You can also play Waterman with the mouse. You can turn Waterman left or right, left click makes waterman jump and right click makes him walk forward.

Important: The lava is not displayed correctly on some video cards. This is caused by the Gamma settings. You can adjust Gamma correction with +,- buttons during gameplay, pause, or in the pre-game menus.

3.The Game

Your goal is to collect each gem in the level before the time goes out. There are three kinds of gems:

The red Gem: It just gives you 5 more seconds

The blue Gem: It gives you 5 more seconds and it restores some of your life

The green Gem: It gives you 5 more seconds and it adds 5000 points.

The level consists of some platforms at variable heights. Some floor boxes have a gem on them, while others don't. Some of the floor boxes are traps. If you step on them, the floor will go down.

You can see some flames in a level too. These flames just "walk" around. You can touch them, but you will loose some of your life. They also die, but they respawn after a few seconds.

There are also teleports and jumppads. Stepping on a teleport will cause Waterman to show up next to another random teleport in the level. There are levels in which you have to go from teleport to teleport, to find the one next to a gem. Jumppads, on the other hand, help you jump really high. That way you can reach some platforms too high or too far from you.

4.How to register

Waterman is a shareware game. This is a beta version and it includes very few levels, but they are enough to test the game. I'm still trying to find a reliable way to purchase Waterman through the internet, while I debug it. So any suggestions, bugs, comments on the game are welcome at
