National Sales Tax vs. Income Tax Which is better- to be taxed on your income which you might not ever spend, or to be taxed only on the stuff you buy? National Sales Tax vs. Income Tax and their uses What is fair taxation? How should be taxes be raised? Who should taxes benefit? Which is better- to be taxed on your income which you might never spend, or to be taxed only on the stuff you buy? Which is better for the individual? Which is better for the government?

Some call it stalking But i call it love guilty_karma Posts: 10 [delete][edit] December 03, 2005, 08:04:pm then again robbing a bank is always a good alternative...100% tax-free blood_on_the_snow Posts: 9 [delete][edit] December 03, 2005, 09:53:pm haha. :ERROR: Posts: 35 [delete][edit] December 04, 2005, 12:08:am Ok, taxes are unavoidable no matter what you try to do. No one likes them, no one wants them, but if you wanna stay out of jail, you're gonna have to pay them. If people didn't spend so much money on luxury, taxes wouldn't be such a big problem. You'd have plenty of money left if you don't not buy that new XBOX 360 you've been saving up for... maybe use that money to pay your taxes so you can keep living in your house! People's priorities are so distorted nowadays. ~^6655321^~

Dkngod [online] Posts: 6 [delete][edit] December 04, 2005, 02:57:pm So you Aussies have a national sales tax. I think thats much fairer system than the income based taxes here in the USA. At least with a national sales tax, you're only taxed on what you purchase. I think luxury items should have a highter tax rate as well. DC VOA Vote for SinShirtS.com

femme_metale43 The Imperial Darkness Posts: 31 [delete][edit] December 05, 2005, 06:10:pm In Canada, taxes run differently. We have: GST - Government sales tax (7 cents on the dollar), mandatory in all provinces. PST - Provincial sales tax (varies by province), all provinces have it except for where I live, Alberta

I think that taxes are in some ways a help, and in other ways a burden.

But what I really do believe is that alcohol should be as taxed as cigarettes. It is as seriously damaging as cigarettes, if not moreso. I mean... have you ever heard of someone having a few too many cigarettes, driving and running into someone's car, killing them instantly? I think not! ~Femme_Metale43~
