Children: Per a letter from one of the daughters written to an aunt of mine who was doing research 20 years ago, there is this statement: "To this union eight children. Half-brother, Charles Hiram Willard b. 13 Nov.1858." This is very interesting. In the 1860 census Charles Hiram is living with the James Robinson family (wife Mary Willard brother to Lewis Willard)

Rest of children: Milton Henry Willard b. 22 Feb 1859, Sarah Euphina Willard b. 9 Feb 1861, Bertha Elizabeth Willard b. 21 Feb 1863, Sherman Daniel Willard b. 16 May 1865, Metta Mae Willard b. 12 March 1868, Silva Ambinetta Willard b. 29 June 1870 & Mason Howard Willard b. 8 March 1872. All born in Bolivar, Tuscarawas Co., Ohio. Lewis Willard's father was Henry Willard b. 23 Sept 1777 possibly Erlenbach, Wurttemburg.

Special thanks to Vivian Eichel for her effort in looking up the following Tuscarawas, OH county information. Silvia Willard was born June 29, 1870 in Bolivar, Ohio to Louis Willard and Emely Campbell. Probably should be Sylvia and Emily. And I double checked, and it does say 1870, not 1871. It was reported on May 17, 1871. It is in Record of Births, Vol. 1, pg 586.

Tusc. Co. Cemeteries, Vol. 4, Lawrence, Fairfield, Warren, Union and Sandy Twps. pg 44 Lawrence Cemetery in Bolivar, Ohio: Sarah Willard / w Louis Aug. 31, 1836 - Jan. 16, 1875. (in Tusc. Death records, Vol. 1, pg 43, says she died Jan. 17, 1875 from unknown reasons.).

L. and Sarah are also listed in the 1870 census with Bertha, Henry M., Metta and Sherman. pg 16 On pge 7, there is a Henry M. Willard listed, wonder if this could be your Henry. I am only looking at an index and will look at the actual film a little later. Louis still mentioned in the 1880 index also.

Just checked the Tusc. Co. Death Records for Louis and it says he died Feb. 20, 1902, not Feb. 12. Also says place of birth is Bolivar. If so, then he should be in the 1850 census before he married Emily.

Alexander Campbell born January 16, 1844 -- is a half-brother to your ancestor Sarah (Campbell) Willard. Both are children of Samuel Campbell (1805-1868) who died in Summit County and is buried here in the Lockwood corners cemetery. Samuel married the widow Mary (Schilling) Strole in 1843 and they had Alexander the following year. I do not know who Sarah's mother was as she died before 1850 and if she ever had a tombstone it is now gone. It is also possible she died in Pennsylvania before Samuel came to Ohio.
