Obituary

Francis J. "Frank" Snider, 80, of West Gay Street, Somerset, died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 1994 at Heartland-Fairfield Care Center.

He was born April 11, 1914, in Somerset. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset, a World War II Army Veteran, a member of VFW Somerset Post 10918 and attended many local American Legions. Mr. Snider was a former member of New Lexington Eagles, was a repairman for Walker Shoe Store in Somerset and retired from Belden Brick in Somerset after 33 years of service. He then worked three years at Junction City Treatment Center.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy G. Padgett Snider of the home; two sons, Patrick F. Snider of Jamestown, N.C., and Martin A. Snider of Newark; four daughters, Louise A. Wilson of Heath, Rita C. Schmeltzer of Somerset, Marilyn S. Hoover of Alliance and Donna M. Householder of Bremen; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Florence Marshall of Neward; and three brothers, Lawrence Snider and Edward Snider, both of Somerset, and William Snider of Zanesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pius J. and Margaret Walker Snider; two sisters, Margaret Hamme and Helen Forgrave; and one brother, George Snider.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset, where the rosary will be recited at 8:45 P.M. Friday.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Adrian Dionne as Celebrant. Burial in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.
