Fritz’s Chili
1 1/2 to 2 lb ground chuck
1 package chili seasoning mix
1 large onion, chopped
3 cans (16 oz. each) chili beans with chili gravy
1 can (16 oz.) whole tomatoes, mashed
1 to 3 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (optional)
1 (16 oz.) red kidney beans, drained (optional)
In skillet, brown ground chuck; drain off fat. Add meat with remaining ingredients except jalapeno peppers to Crock-Pot; stir well. Cover and cook on Low setting for 8 to 10 hours
(on High setting for 2 1/2 to 4 hours). Before serving, stir in chopped peppers if hotter flavor is desired.
4 to 6 servings (about 3 quarts).
