David’s European Vacation 2004

Highlights in Germany

Walked the city on the morning on arrival. Got to St. Michael’s church, the Marian Platz (with the glockenspiel), went to courtyard of the Residence, and saw the city only bit before I needed to get my train to Wangen.
Last night before my departure, went to the Haufbrauhaus for pork shoulder, salad, potato dumplings, and 0.5 liter of Weis beer

On the way to Wangen, got off at the wrong stop but made it (after the adventure)
The next day I worked the day then drove to Ravensburg which was having a festival (Friday night)
Saturday drove to Fussen and the castles (including Nueschwanstein) in the rain (hugh joy ride where I hit 170km/hr)
Drove a BMW wagon (manual diesel)
Walked around Lake Alpsee (searched for the perfect PC desktop background or screen saver)
Saw the outside of the castles
Dinner in Fussen
Sunday went to Breganz, Pfender, and Lindau
Lake Konstance
Hit 200km/hr on the way back
Worked the day on Monday and then went out for dinner with 4 German co-workers
I went on to Nuremberg via train

Picked up by the Diehl manager from Nuremberg and saw the city and had dinner with him

Worked and then went to dinner in the city at the Rick Steve’s recommended restaurant
Worked the next day and went to the city for dinner at another Rick Steve’s recommended site
The next day went to the Nazi Documentation Center before going on to Budapest

Great job done by the pastor and the bride and groom
At a castle
Great reception, lots of pastries, cake, special dessert, and great Hungarian food
Watched some great Hungarian dancers and a good band
