Both stories have a huge plot dealing with time travel. And in both stories they go into prehistoric time. When they go into prehistoric time they kill some kind of animal that drastically changes the future. Eckels goes back in time a steps on a small butterfly which changes grammar into literal grammar and that a Dictator is now Ruler of the U.S.
Homer Simpson squishes a mosquito and makes Ned Flanders complete Ruler of the World.
A big difference in the Simpsons is that Homer goes into the past multiple times and each time he does something different. With each time he goes back there�s a different consequence. Another difference in the two stories is Eckels wanted to go into the past to hunt big game while Homer accidentally went into the past. Both went into the past though and triggered the butterfly effect.
