This disc covers 1972-1983. 
The Seventies proved to be one of Brian's darkest, most troubled periods.  While the Beach Boys worked on the Holland album, Brian continued to withdraw from public life, falling into a spiral of clinical depression and self-abusive behavior.  After being virtually forced back into the limelight in an ill-conceived "Brian Is Back" campaign, he managed to produce two more albums.  After resuming his ever-increasing bizarre behavior and drug abuse, Brian hit rock bottom in 1983 when his brother and fellow band member, Dennis Wilson, drowned in a tragic boating accident.
