I dont play with toys, i just make them :-)
Alright look what we have here! Its a lightsaber!! cmon, who hasnt seen those certain sci-fi movies and dreamed of owning one of those kool laser swords? well i did, and lately the whole craze over the prequels have been driving me insane so i decided to make myself a new lightsaber.I made my first one about 2 years ago, and it turned out ok, nothing great. So recently i made another, needless to say it wasnt that great either. so i decided to put a little more planning and a little more money and time into one and see if i could really produce something that looked half decent. The result is what you see above. This is my 3rd saber and well, its the one i claim the most because it turned out so well, i went out and bought a acrylic model car display case (1/18th scale) and made me little stands for the saber and glued them in so when displayed it looks like an icons style saber. This saber, which i just named a jedi saber, is constructed of chrome tubeing, with rubber coated PVC pipe over it acting as the "emmitet" grip and pommel ring (basically everything thats black is rubber". The biggest feature of this baby is the two (COUNT UM, 2!) working LED lights, both of which are red. They are controled by a puch button on/off switch (that big red square). The Whole gizmo is powered by a 9v battery which can be replaced by just popping the chrome cap off the pommel.  Another neat little feature i added was that the saber can hold a blade. I wanted a saber i could fight with, well spar with anyway, so the saber has a threaded female PVC adaptor at the emmiter end that holds a 3/4 inch PVC pipe. i havent photegraphed the blade yet because i really dont like it, it makes the whole thing blade heavy, but i might change it who knows..........hey email with what you think of it!! thanks!!!!!!!1
wow look! i just added this. i got tired of that threaded PVC blade holder, i wanted something a bit more fancy,so i installed a green LED light on the emmiter. this is a pretty bad scan, it turned out all dark, but you can see where the green led is, and it is actually on a chrome plug, that plugs that hole up. i just rewired this light so it also feed off that 9v battery. hmm, i wonder how long that battery will last now that it has 3 12v lights pulling it? well see......
