The P 99 was Walthers addition to the polymer frame handgun world, and in my opinion it out did all of its peers. The DA/SA options on this gun put it a step ahead of the famous Glock pistols. The P99 features a slide mounted decock button that allows the shooter to put the gun in a double action mode with a increased trigger pull. This allows the gun to be carried chambered but fairly safely. The P99 was later offered in 40 cal. and Walther has plans to also over the gun in .45 ACP as well. The P99 pictured here is the European version with features high capacity magazines holding 16 rounds. The P22 is a 3/4 scale downsize of the P99 in appearance only. Its a fairly accurate .22 cal pistol with a 3" barrel. The inner mechanics of the P22 seperate it alot from its bigger brother, but keeps the esthetics and comfort of the grip design. The gun comes with two magazines each holding 10 rounds. one features a flat soleplate while the other is extended with a pinky finger rest. |
