Custom KC Bingo Katana Project
I am still in the early planning stages of this project, but I have high hopes for its success. It will be based around a 29" Kris Cutlery Bingo Mihara bare blade. The Blade is KC's elite katana that has a Bo-Hi (groove) to lighten the rather long blade. Below is a few scans and pictures of the parts I have so far. Silk tsukaito is on the way right now from japan. The color will be Navy Blue.
The fairly well shaped Kissaki (tip) shows pretty good definition over KC's standard katana.
The Habaki came with the blade. It is made of white bronze. I polished it up some and it is actually a very shiny silver color. This gave me the idea to go with a silver and black theme of fittings.
This Gorgeous Crane tsuba is what inspired me to do this prject from the start. It is made my Paul chen, and I scanned it here in its wooden storage box it came with to store it until mounting. very nice set. I will soon be purchasing silver crane menuki from Lohman to match this tsuba.
This Fuchi and Kashira set was a lucky find. Cecil Quirno of Kris Cutlery just happen to have some. They are actually Cicada Forge/ Rick Barrett pieces, but he sold them to me for a fair price. I think they will compliment the blacked tsuba nicely.
