Some more of my Work..
The above is a few pictures of some of my custom swords I have made. All of the swords shown above have hand ground and polished blades made of Aircraft grade aluminum. Ill try to give a little detail on each peice.
The sword in the top of the picture, was the second sword I made. I was experimenting wtih different thicknesses of metal for the blade at the time, and for this sword I went a bit too thin. As you can see there is no scabbard for this sword. I didnt even finish polishing the blade because the metal was too soft and floppy, I have bent the blade many times. It did give me the opportunity to play around with a few designs such as the tsuba (guard) on the sword which i also made and gave a pebbled texture to. Also i played around with the handle wrap. The handle is made of Balsa wood, and wrapped tightly with two different colors of imitation leather.
The second sword from the top is actually the first sword I ever made. I gave it a straight blade because I was still experimenting with blade thicknesses. The blade is made of 3/16" stock, strong stuff. The handle is balso wood that is covered in a gold foil and then given a twist wrap with grip tape.
the scabbard is made the same way from Pine.
The Only real work i did on the third sword, the dragon sword, is to make the blade. It was a Taiwan made Highlander sword, and I made a aluminum blade for it from 3/16" stock. Very high polished.
The sword in the bottom of the pic, is my favorite. The hilt is completely made from wood, the tsuba is cedar and the handle is cedar and poplar. The blade is also engraved with my name on it.

All of these swords are for Forms compettion. None are intended to be used to cut with and therefore are not designed that way.
