| 'Derek The Designated Driver' |
| Well, okay, I decided to start this service when I got my Provisional 1 License in June of 2004. People like to party, drink alcohol, and need a way to get home.. right? We now you don't have to worry about the 'getting home part' with my Designated Driving Service (maybe this could be abriviated with 'D.D.S.'?). "Great!" you say. Then you wonder how's my driving record. There isn't much of a record because it's completely clean; no dirt, dust, anything. I had my Learners License from 23rd October 2002 - June 21st 2004 and during that time I clocked up OVER 100 hours of driving in a minivan (Mitsubishi Nimbus) and a sedan (Hyandai Sonata); both automatics. I know how to drive a manual car though. The first time I drove one I aced it; had no trouble. If you must know I only stalled the car three times in a whole day of driving. I've NEVER had a crash (There's many people in my grade who have had multiple crashes within their first year of getting their Provisional 1 license! Don't they take driving seriously?), scratch, dint, dent, or confrontation with another driver. Although I have sometimes made a comment like "What the hell?!!!" to myself or the other passengers in my car. One other reason I started this service is because I don't drink alcohol. I have never had one sip, drop, leak of any form of alcohol.. EVER. Now I bet you're thinking "what the hell is wrong with this guy?" Don't worry, I find other ways to have my fun, sugar (Starbursts or Krispy Kreme's) usually sends me on enough of a high to do crazy things. Cakes are always good at birthday parties :) With this in mind I will fight my urges on the nights/days that I am designated driver by restricting my sugar consumption :P You don't have to be intoxicated to use this service. You can call me anytime and request a ride somewhere if you need one. Same costs apply. IF you ARE intoxicated and I judge you as being 'too intoxicated' I may leave you in the care of the party/venue owners and restrict you from using my service for that event; UNLESS you have concent from your parent/gardian (even if you're over 18) which says I MUST take you to your home residence. | 17th November 2004 - Emma Barnes is the first person to join the DDDS team for an event. She's able to drive anyone to Derek's Birthday Party and/or back home from it. If you need a ride just let her or I know and we'll book you in. She has three seats so make it snappy. 7th November 2004 - Happy Sweeter 17th Birthday to Sarah! Only one HSC exam to go for me. Then DDDS will be back in gear. Any parties coming up. Let me know; especially if you need a designated driver. 18th October 2004 - HSC 2004 Examinations currently in progress. Limited DDDS avaliable. Weekends should be fine. If anyone wants to be designated driver for that night could you please tell me asap! I will entitle you to 2/3's of the profit made. I appologise for leaving you all there when I had to take Craig T to the medical centre, but we kinda had to get there quick as you saw that he was hurt quite badly! Everyone, except Mike C, had faith in me though. I did return you all home safely with a detours to drop extra, non-booking drunk passengers off.
