Skiing 2005-2006
Dec 5, 2005-Ski Days #1-6:
What a great place to start my season!  BRECKENRIDGE Colorado!  I was out there for the week for the Hartfod Ski Spectacular continuing education program for adaptive snowsports.  I learned a lot of new stuff to transfer over to my students in the VASS team, plus I got to ski my butt off in some great snow!
Pics from my trip can be seen here:

I had a BLAST out there.  It was my first time out for the season, plus my first time out west, so it was hard not to have fun!  I had clinics in the moring everyday, then free skiing in the afternoons, so everything worked out quite well!  I couldn't believe how un-crowded it was there!  It snowed monday night and tuesday, and I was still getitng fresh tracks by wednesday afternoon at 3!!  I got to ski with a lot of different people in a lot of different terrain, so that alone made it a time to remember!

I was at Sugarbush North coaching the VASS Ski Team for the weekend.  We didn't work on too much with the kids as they were just trying to get used to being on skiis again since it was thier first day of the season.  I picked up my new (new to me that is) skiis saturday night and tried them out sunday.  WOW.  midfats rock!  I love the way they float in the pow, and hold a nice fast line on the corduroy.
Dec 23, 2005-Ski Day #9:
I'm off for the day, so i'm making the trip to VT early and heading up to Sugarbush to ski with my cheap friends for the day.  Its Sugarbush's anniversary so they are only charging $5.50 for lift tickets for the day!  yahoo!

Merry Christmas to all!!!
I'm off to my Grandmothers in East Barnard, VT to celebrate Christmas with the family.  I wanted to ski, but I didn't bring my skiis down since it had warmed up so much the day before, so we went seldding down thru the field instead!

Dec 27, 2005-Ski Day #10:
I went in to work this morning, but no one else showed up, so I went home!  I built some shelving for the gear room, then decided that since it was such a nice day out, I should go out and enjoy the day!  I had originally thought of going skiing at Crotched Mountain for a half day, but I didn't really feel like paying 35 bucks to ski on ice, so I decided to skin up Pak Manadnock instead! I was rewarded with great views of Temple Mountain Ski Area (now lost), Watatic Ski area (also lost), and Wachusett, as well as views of the Boston skyline!

Jan 7, 2006-Ski Day #11:
Ellen and I met up with some friends at Smuggs for a tele day!  7 of us were on our tele gear, and the other was on his snowboard.  It was a tiring day, but well worth it, as it wasn't too crowded, and the snow was GREAT!

Ellen and I were at Sugarbush to work with the Vermont Adaptive Race Team.  We spent most of the day doing high speed bombing runs down the groomed runs with our sit-skiier, then made 4 runs down a GS course top to bottom on Inverness and called it a day!
