The song you`re hearing now, "Quiet Times", was actually written during a dry spell. I wanted to write, but the words just weren`t there. And I wasn`t having much luck.
Right across the road from my house was a little pink dogwood tree. I kept looking at that tree, and I wrote the first line. The rest of it came pretty easily.
It was just before my first wife`s and my 3rd anniversary. I didn`t have much money, for a gift, so I gave her the song for an anniversary gift.
Ten years later, she gave it back to me, and told me where I could go with it.
