| "I lift up my eyes to the hills--where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let you slip--He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed He who watched over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you--the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm--he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your comings and goings both now and forevermore." --Psalm 121 (New International Version). These were some of the words of scripture that came to mind as I stared at this vista. Just marveling at God's Creation. This was the most awesome, majestic scene I had ever laid eyes on. I wondered at the power of a God who could create such things, who could even just imagine such vistas, let alone speak them into being. What also hit me, as majestic as this sight was, is that God created a much more beautiful creation than this mountain, or the whole of Alaska. That creation is life. That creation is me. As important as this and other such vistas of the natural creation are to God, the crowning achievement of that creation was human kind. Each human being having a place in his heart, made in his image. The power of a God who can create and breathe life into millions upon billions of people over millions of years is no less awe-inspiring. More awe-inspiring than His power is his love. The Love that sent his only Son to die on the Cross to bridge the gap between himself and his people that was forged by sin. The love that held Jesus to the Cross. The love, and power, that brought him back from the dead on Easter Morning. He loves me, and all of us. Someday the time will come, when his creation is brought back into full Peace, and Purity....as pure as the vista above. "He who testifies to these things says, 'Yes, I am coming soon.' Amen, Come, Lord Jesus. The Grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's People, Amen. (Revelation 22: 20-21). Even if you don't agree with me, I thank you for reading these words. May you enjoy rich blessings of Peace all the days of your life. "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and will be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.' He who was seated on the throne said 'I am making everything new!" Revelation 21:3-5. |
