By the Marquis de Sade
I spend most of my reading time engrossed in Literature from the 18th century, but here are some gothic titles and writers from all time periods.
La Novelle Justine, or, the Misfortunes of Virtue
By Anne Rice
Interveiw with the Vampire
The Vampire Lestat
The Tale of the Body Thief
Memnoch the Devil
The Vampire Armand
Blood and Gold
120 Journees de Sodom, or, the 120 Days of Sodom
Philosophe dans le Budoir, or, Philosophy in the Bedroom
Everything in the vampire chronicles is excellent, but you may like her so much, you want to try her utopian novellas  about bondage and domination, the Beauty series.
All very twisted and sick, alot of porngraphy, but it's definitely written in the common literary style of the time. Monsuier de Sade is very perverted, but he has an obsession with good and evil. He is one of my favorite writers of all time.
By Charles Baudelaire
The Flowers of Evil
This, folks, is an AMAZING title in my poetry collection. He is the most gothic writer of that century. delve into a twisted soul and a melancholic heart.
By Sheridan Le Fanu
Wolfgang Von Goethe Carmilla
Faust It's literature about a vampire who seduces a lesbian
OR
Dante
William Faulkner
The Sufferings of Young Werther
Paradisio
Purgatorio
Inferno
A Rose for Emily
A morbid novel about a chick who keeps her husbands dead body and does what!?
Faust is about the devil, Werther is a pre-gothic novel about an artist who is suicidal. Very cool for those who dig it.
I forgot how to spell his first name, Alegheri?  Sort of dry but very spooky/gothic in an epic sort of way.
Joyce Carol Oates
By Thomas Harris
Foxfire
The Red Dragon
Silence of the Lambs
Hannibal
By Nancy Collins
Maybe you saw the movie, the book is even better, about a girl gang.
Sunglasses After Dark
If you enjoy modern fiction, and are a vampire lover, this series is for you. Meet Sonja Blue, a renegade vampire.
I know, we've all seen the movies, but the books are nonstop action. Plus,  read deleted scenes from the movie! (hee, hee) Trust me, just READ HANNIBAL!!
William Blake
The Marraige of Heaven and Hell
By Poppy Z. Brite
Shes a sick-o. try anything by her to see if you can stomach the distaste.
A cool collection of poetry on all different subjects, reflecting upon life after death mainly.
