MP3's AND ME

Mp 3 - Mpeg Layer 3 - Compressed Format of Audio - Just Like a *.zip file compresses data.
Ok! A very, very ,very long battle between Record Companies and File Sharers has been brewing up. Started when someone created NAPSTER! Few years back that word was on the mouth of every internet user. I was a simple little program that could be downloaded for free and when started up you can start SHARING your MP3 files... Only Mp 3 Files...
Now
think of this... 1 million people using this system... more than 507 000 different
types of songs filtering through this system.
Some people download like 15 songs simultalisly because of their Bandwidth.
Now if you think about this... take One Song add it to your "Share These
Files" section in 24 hours 1.9 million people Will have that same song.
Think of how much money the Record Companie's lost.
But on the flip side an Artist needs sales to up their income. Its like if you worked on a car and suddenly someone else opens a Motor Mechanics Shop further down the road and they offer FREE service who would people go to? So in retrospec you gonna lose out on income and be bank-rupt. But did you kow a Record Company hold a contract to the artist and the split is like 60 - 40. The RC takes 60 and the artist gets 40. Or some type of figure but i know the artist just gets a small amount (maybe a 2 million) or something and they also get Fame, Invites to Huge events and shows and get paid for that. So they dont lose out that much. Just from the record company they lose a bit.
So now when you buy a cd single you pay like 4 times the amount you would when you download a song. What else is that with a CD Single you get like 2 songs if you lucky you get 3. But with a download song off present day file sharings apps you get a song REMIXED BY A COMPUTER USER... only when you download the full song you see the first verse is the song then mixed into some Synthetic song with the same beat behind it. Or when your song comes through you "preview" it and sounds clear... until you get the full song only to hear they quality drop drastically. Or the tempo changed, song is looped and after the first verse the song goes dead, you know its silenced out.
In life there are many Pro's and Con's to everything.
Just like File Sharing Versus Record Companies. Pros and Cons.
But now "WHO IS RIGHT?" I agree with the Record Company for stamping down on individual File sharers. But i also agree with those that created Napster and Napster's Conterparts... Keep the gready Record Companies Power That Be "a little further from God"... let them get the best of people they WILL THINK they are Gods...
