I got her from the original owner at 45k just over a year ago. Rode her thru every storm this last winter threw at us with no probs. At purchase I replaced the sprockets, chain, brake pads, and added a center stand and new GT501 tires. She runs strong and is very straight and completely stock. Clean title and tagged thru March 04. Previous owner did a low speed drop and rashed the right side can. Both lowers were replaced w/new OEM but upper appears repainted and doesn't match quite right. I got stupid while polishing and dropped it but only cracked the upper around the blinker stalk. No damage other than that except minor nicks and scratches you'll have to look for. All in all she's above average cosmetically for a bike of this mileage as you can see from the pics. She's dirty up under her skirts from the winter riding but at this price, you supply the elbow grease. Mechanically my only concern is she's been seeping fuel on an inconsistent basis from left front carb. We may or may not be able to get it to leak on inspection but this is obviously something to be looked into sooner rather than later. The front rotors are gettin pretty tired but they're still workin fine. Battery purchased October 02. Front axle feels a tick out of spec but you can't tell when riding. All the oil has leaked out of the shock, but I've just been riding with the preload cranked up. Also the accelerator cables were mis-routed when the upper was remounted, and that causes them to bind in full left lock but does not affect normal operation. I ride Hiway 9 regularly with no worries but she really does need a good goin over and a bath up underneath. The price is absolutely firm, cash in full only. First one with $1500 gets her and the sale is final. No test rides, no trips to a mechanic, no barter, no payments, no exceptions. I won't even start her up till you convince me you've got the money and are ready to buy. Show me the money and I'll ride you round so you can see how well she runs before you hand me the cash. Simply put, she's a box-stock 87 Viffer with 53k on the clock and road grime on her knickers. Please make the decision that this is the kind of bike yer lookin for before you call. Thanks for browsin and remember to keep the rubber side pointed towards the planet. Call Dave @ 408-723-2854 or send me an Email. |
