Relapse by Maera
I was recently introduced to a designer names relapse. He was a very quiet when I met him, and I was intrigued by what he designs. His creations differ so widely you cannot truly put it all into one category. Relapse has many household items I appreciated very much, like his recent creation, the ironing board, which is very detailed including shadows and a sense of realism. In his collection is also a variety of Toy Cars which I find fun for any car enthusiast. Of course, the item I found most interesting was the Fig Hoverboard, shaped to look like a fig Newton, which happens to be my absolutely favorite snack of all time. Here are a few questions I was able to ask the great designer relapse, and I highly suggest you check out his website for examples of this creators� talent. From his toy cars to his telescope, relapse has a great vision of creativity of the world in There.
1) What inspires your creations? Specifically youre fig newton board?
A lot of the inspiration comes from those "I can't believe someone
hasn't make one of these yet!" moments. Most objects I've created are
things that interest me and I think might be fun or difficult to create.
Some of the objects are suggestions from There members as I have a
website setup to allow registered members to submit ideas or "projects"
for There object builds.
The inspiration behind the Fig Newton board might not be as intriguing
as you might think. I have a good friend Mr_Fignewton who really needed
a defining method of transportation. What better way to roll up to a
crowd of people and really make a statement than to have Mr_Fignewton
himself ride up on a huge fig Newton!
1) How long have you been designing?
Well I've been a successful designer/animator/director in RL having
started doing graphic design professionally at age 14 (now I'm 29). But
as far as designing for There ... It was the sole purpose for my
becoming a member so I've been designing for There the day I joined.
2) What is your favorite thing you've designed?
Wow, now that's a toughy. I really like the speeder hoverbikes as I
really poured some sweat and tears into those. I love all the toy car
builds as I'm an absolute car FANATIC! But, overall I think my favorite
object I've created is the small telescope. I don't know why really I
just like the way it looks in world.
3) Do you have any big plans for future designs?
Oh yes, always big plans! The to-do idea list is very very long.
However, of all the big plans, my most hopeful is to work with There,
Inc in letting me build a permanent Observatory structure complete with
an absolutely huge telescope and space PAZ museum/history learning
center. That would be something.
4) Is designing your favorite thing in There? Is that what brought you in There?
Yes, without question. I do like logging in from time to time to
either buggy race or talk to a few people but for the most part I like
designing and building objects for There best.
