Welcome to my Railroad Homepage, I like many other Ham radio operators apparently not only share my love for electronics and electrical theory in just the radio & RF realm, but in the re-creation and imaginative realm as well! My love for trains and model railroading began when I was VERY young! My dad (also a ham KD4ATW, and railroad fan) got me into the train thing at the wee age of......1! I, like my dad, am a fan of the good ole' Southern Railroad (hence the page's color scheme)! I am also a fan of the Chessie System Chesapeake & Ohio) and I also like Con-Rail! As for trains... My TRUE love is steam engines! I love any and all steam engines! There is nothing more beautiful and romantic than the life-like sense of a coal or wood-fired engine! It's like it is alive and breathing!
As far as diesels go, I like GP-40s, GP-38's, and switchers of various types!
In the modeling sense, I prefer "HO" guage because of its' availability, "N" is my next choice, and my DREAM is to have a "G" guage garden railroad someday! At the time I do not have a layout of my own, but have plans laid out to build an "HO" layout based on the former TAG Railway line with connectors to Lytle, GA, Chickamauga, GA, and LaFayette and Trion, GA! Kinda' a dual railroad layout!
