Dark & Lonely

I sit here in the dark
Contemplating over and over
Letting the swirl of thought and emotion
Cloud my mind
It twists and turns
and spins behind my eyes

The only light is before me
And I let my eyes follow its beam
Sucking me in
The dark falls behind me
The light shines before me
And I fall to my doom.

God, I wish I knew what to do
For life is so complicated
So distorted
And it never gets any easier
But sobbing uncontrollably
will never ease the pain

The blind behind me is shut
Blocking out the world.
That's ok.
The world is dark and lonely
But so am I.
So am I.
