| Hey all! I know, I haven't written for a while again. I'm trying not to make a habit out of it but I'm just SO busy!!! So last time I wrote was on Jan 20th.. Since then I've basically been going to lectures and trying to study, but it just doesn't seem to be possible! Like today: I was gonna wake up at 10 and go to Hart House and study all day. Well, first of all I couldn't wake up at 10, I was just way to tired. So I finally woke up at around 11, then decided to do my laundry first (yes Mum, aren't you proud?!). Afterwards I had breakfast and took a shower. There was no more food left in the kitchen so Roos wanted to go to Tim Horton's (=like Starbucks but then cheaper and Canadian) to buy something to eat and drink. By the time we were done with all that it must've been around 2 or something. I figured I'd have to pay my residence fees after that for which I have to get a money order. It's the worst system: you have to go to a post office and pay them and then they give you this piece of paper which you give to your residence so they can pick up the money with it. Anyway, you always have to wait in line for ages, and when it was finally my turn she told me I couldn't pay by credit card but had to pay with cash or debit. So I had to go and draw money out and then stand in line again for ages. Finally after that I went to Hart House (which is, by the way, the coolest place ever to study) but then I couldn't find Haroon or Roos there. So I went downstairs to the cafetaria and saw them sitting there together with Jess and Nina, so obviously we had to talk for a bit. When I finally got down to studying it was 4:30-ish... Then I fell asleep at 6, woke up at 6:30 and went to Suk's place. And instead of studying I'm on the internet. This is not good... Last night we went to this club in Little Italy, which was so awesome! Our hiphop teacher Lenny (dunno how you spell his name) had invited us to go there because he had to perform at this video release party. So we arrived there and it looked really fancy inside. First there was this dance show, then an Afro-American (or Afro-Canadian) guy playing on the guitar, he was excellent! After that a girl played the keyboard and she had the most amazing voice, but the music and the lyrics weren't that good. It was basically: "I love you, I do.... Can't be without you.... I need you....." etc. And then finally the singer who was releasing the new video: Nazri (ever heard of him? I haven't!). He's pretty good, though unfortunately all his music was kinda slow... But it was awesome to see the whole show! We didn't go home very late though, because the DJ that played after that was trying to get us to dance to Alicia Keys (You don't know my name) which wasn't really working. Nevertheless, it was a cool night and we're definitely going back to that club again! Last weekend was fun too. On Friday someone at Coop (the residence organization where I live) had organized a party, but Suk and I left pretty early. It was so crowded there, you couldn't move! But the night after that there was another party at someone's house, which wasn't that busy, and I definitely had a good time there. Ben (English gang) came with us as well, and so did one of Sukrit's friends, Feraz. Feraz is so good at doing voices, it's hilarious! I'm pretty sure he scared the shit out of some people who were at the party. He asked some girl to marry him and then he'd buy her a TV set so at least she'd have something to do back in Afghanistan... Hilarious! I guess you just have to be there to really appreciate it, but it was great! Some guy came up to me halfway through the night and said: "www.ashley....(something)....com", I had no clue what he was talking about. His friend came up to me later and apologized for his friend. Apparently the guy claimed that he'd seen me on some sort of porn website. Isn't that great?! And Sukrit, of course, was like: "Do you have something to tell me sweety?" During the week several classes at U of T got cancelled due to the weather. We've had two days of snow storms, I loved it! It wasn't that cold and the snow was quite soft, so it was just nice and white everywhere. It really depends on where you walk though, if you walk past Robarts Library (pretty close to my street) or on Bay Street (where Suk lives) the wind is so horribly strong that you nearly get blown away! Apparently Bay Street is one of the windiest streets in entire Canada! But yeah, I took some pictures of the huge layers of snow but for some weird reason only the Afro-Canadian guy will upload on my computer, so I'll try to do that some other time. I'm writing on Sukrit's computer now and he already said that his computer's been acting kind of weird lately. This weekend's gonna be busy again, but I think I should probably actually study for the test I have on Tuesday. On Saturday some people want to go clothes shopping and then watch some fireworks at the Beaches. Then there's a party (of course). On Sunday Team Holland wants to go to the Harbour Front and it's Jess' birthday then so she wants us all to come over. I guess all these parties also still make it feel like a holiday. And even though the stress is starting to build up due to all this school work I'm still lovin' it! Padapapapaaaa.. |
