Message: hey cal. whats up man? just dropping another line. remember when i heard about cal... colleen anderson (nick's mom) called my place and told my mom. she told me, and that was like the worst moment of my life. here your 17th is coming up man. dec 11. kick ass, im gonna throw a party here with all my friends at university man, cause thats the day of my last exam too. wicked ay? got another story to share aswell. rex reminded me of this one. he had just dropped us off at porter's ski field and we had a big jar of nutella that we were mowin' on with our fingers, and like 2 cases of v. we drank the v, and then half buried the cans in the snow. cal thought it was hilarious, cause there at the top of the mountain were 4 cans of v, rite at the summit. man, i'll never forget his goofy laugh and all the other awesome times we had together. later man. keep kickin it.

Message: damn, from wat i can remember cal liked the beastie boys and ate kfc by the bucketfull-dude loved that stuff. always made a meeeeh noise with his tounge out, never a dull moment wen ur with the master lol. tidiest boy i think i'll ever meet, and while he skated was the master of the k grind, nothing skateable was safe with that dude around. never got to see him surf but from the sounds of it he loved that aswell. good at everything he did, and was probably envied by everyone by being so damn charismatic. dont think i've missed anyone this much, not sure if i ever will but if u knew him he made sure u knew him well, and damn sure we would never forget him.for those who didnt know him, u missed out on knowing one of the most down to earth funny peeps the world could offer. speaking of the world, its definately never going to be the same again, nowhere near as funny either, dude always had ya in tears. bro ima miss ya forever....but the day we meet again is gonna be a! damn memorable one thats for sure!

Message: well there is so much trademark stuff cal had. the spotless room, his k grind trucks, his countless sayings and i definatley remember the large kfc twister combos and the countless litres of v he consumed! man he always stayed the same size aswell, i'd eat half as much as him and i'd still be fatter!i remember one of his first days he got here and we went to his place, rex told us we were like 2nd or well, distant cousins and we were soo stoked on that. i guess thats why we were such good friends. dudes gonna be missed forever........definately

Message: Well, this all happened a long time ago - about January 1998 I think - so mabey it wasn't quite like this, but this is how I remember it. We're standing in the Wellington Town Hall - the old one - and the place is packed. Theres all sorts there. Johnny, with his long hair and his mates, has gone off to enjoy the show somewhere else.... and this kid, this little kid, is up on his dads shoulders, mesmerised. Beck is on stage and hes rockin. The band are on fire, 2 turntables and a microphone. The dj scratches a solo, Becks spinnin his guitar round his head. Devils Haircut. A bouncer the size of 3 mortal men spies Cal and suddenly hes sitting in the pit at the foot of the stage - practically on the stage - the best seat in the house. Beck looks down and makes eye contact with Cal, gives him a nod, and 5000 people are instantly jealous. I thought we'd never hear the end of it... When I was growing up the word used to describe the best people was "cool". I dont even know what word is used now, but I know thats not it... If Cal was my age, he would have been cool.

Message: one day back in like 98/99,still in primary school,me and a few friends had just started skateboarding and you know the atmosphere when a new kid comes, all sketchy and wondering what hes gonna be like.Well this is when cal was the "new kid" at st patricks, so we were out skating and since we were beginners we were just rolling round and if we were lucky we busted the odd ollie. Over comes the shy new guy (cal) and asks for a go on my board. so theres me thinkin im the best while im watchin cal roll around the school. suddenly out of no where cal lands this kickflip, which back then wasn't the commen occurance at our little school.at that moment im instantly transfered from the over confident best skater in the school to the quiet "second" best. never ever could get better than him on the old skateboard and am left wondering if i was ever going to.(tho i doubt it). thanks for the good times bud, thanks for making me skate better, thanks for making me realize "secon! d" wasn't a bad thing either, and thanks cal, for jus being you. laters cuz. missed always

Message: cal was like the best friend anyone could have he was totally unique in an awesome way! everyone that knew him could say the same! man the saying all the good ones go is sooo true.. i mean look @ all the stuff cal done in 15 years! not many people could do that in a lifetime! for the people like me that were prevliged enough to know cal, i think are so lucky, cause even though i did only know him for a couple of years, they were certainly my best ones.

Message: Some of my best times with my Brother were Down at the sk8 park last winter, busting out new tricks, teaching him new moves or perfecting the old ones, we would always stay there to day turned to night and usually(actually always) stop at kfc or the fish'n'chip shop for a feed before dinner on the way home, somehow i would always pay for these acts of indulgence, but one night was really funny, Mike Rooney will remember, as it was just me, him and cal sk8ing, when Cal's short temper was shown to us, i won't go into detail, but Cal didn't put up with any shit he didn't like and this night was no exception, he did well for a runty dude and we loved him for it, no matter what the situation you had us in fits bro, Cal Rooney and i were laughing for ages after that night, i still don'y know if dad knows about this one haha, oh well, Later Cal

Message:
Cal - there are poems for days and days for poems. This is Hamlet for today when reason escapes me.

We defy augury. There's a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, tis not to come. If it be not to come, it will be now. If it be not now, yet it will come. The readiness is all. Since no man knows aught of what he leaves, what is't to leave betimes?
Let be.

Message: Cal, i wrote this poem 4 u ages ago, it means excally how i feel and took sooo long 2 get rite! i miss ya sooo much! and now more than ever, so here it goes...

Far away the angels sing,
For here you shall not stay,
For earth does not deserve such grace,
And for that you must fly away.
I send a pair of angels wings,
To guide you on from me,
And although it hurts to watch you go,
Its best that you be free.
I will dream a million dreams for you,
And say prayer after tearful prayer.
And although the hurt is almost too much,
All the pain i must learn to bare.
And if the sun does not rise tomorrow,
I shall be with you in the sky,
But untill that day im with you again,
You shall never see me cry.

luvvin ya alwayz! liv

Message: i remember this one time in third form it was pretty much the end of term 3 like couple of days left or watever, so cal was in the mood to do sum silly shit.we're in english and he's all "rooney bust out the lynx"!! so i get my lynx outta my bag and wunderin wats goin thru cals mind ya know? all of a sudden i click wen i see the lighter in his hand, so i sprayed my lynx 4 him and he lit it on fire, like makes a flamethrower or watever and it was the funniest thing ever, even wen we're walkin ova to the office 2 be stood down we were still laughing hard out like nuthin was gonna bring us outta that mood, it 1 of the best memories i have of cal, not so much the flamethrower or the getting stood down, but the mood he could always get u in, that made everything u even thought about the biggest joke, no wonder everyone misses ya cal, u were definitly one of a kind.
