Example of a gaming session

Let's imagine an adventuring party of 1 fighter, 1 thief, 1 priest, and 1 mage. They've been adventuring in a dungeon:

DM: "So, everyone is walking down the dungeon corridor, right?"

All players: "We do"

DM: "All right, you start walking, but suddenly you reach a dead end"

Fighter: "A dead end? Just like that?"

DM: "Yes, a solid wall appears before you"

Thief: "This looks strange, I want to search the wall for any secret door switches and the like"

DM: (rolling some dice) "That's OK. You search the wall, and spot a secret switch concealed in it"

Thief: "I knew it. I activate the switch"

DM: "Fine. You activate it, and the wall before you begins to move sideways"

Mage: "Anything else happens?"

DM: "No, it's just opening. After it stops, you can see that behing the wall, there is some sort of altar in a small room"

Priest: "An altar? How is it like?"

DM: "It is small, made of some sort of marble. It has a shining vase on it"

Thief: "Wow, a shining vase. Must be golden! I wanna get that!"

Priest: "No! Don't touch it, it might be a trap!"

Mage: "You're right, I cast the detect magic spell"

DM: "Alright, you cast the spell, and sense there is a magical trap around the altar"

Priest: "Just what I thought, it was too easy"

Fighter: "Well, we should not touch anything around here, who knows what might happen"

All players: "OK, we turn back and head towards the corridor..."

The past lines offer an example of what a gaming session should be like. There must be interaction between players and DM, after all, the game is about that! Well, hope this guide has been helpful, any other questions you've got you can ask me.
