| Memory of Nerf Online |
| For the next couple minutes, I'll be talking about my experiance and memory with one the best Nerf online communities. Nerf Online, was the first forum I signed up to, well, major forum. It was Febuary 21, 2002 when I joined Nerf Online. The community there was awesome, with discussion about Nerf that now we find original. Er, in other words, good times, good times. I barely knew anyone, I tried to blend in and not act newbish. Since I was confused with what everyone was talking about mostly. I learned about modifications and homemades, and 7 days after my sign-up, I had my own site up and running from inspiration from all the ideas and world I entered. The content NO had was the best I'd seen with such a big forum. I remember LANOs (Los Angeles Nerf Out), the name that got people to start using 'Nerf Out' and thier state, for the name of wars. And who could forget the videos? Nerf Online had 2 Nerf videos that had music and energy for 5 minutes. I'd watch those things all the time, and just be amazed at how fun it would be to be there. They also had a section dedicated to Nerf Arena Blast, which show'd me about the game, and got me hooked on it. I also remember trying to play with other people on the forum. And who could forget the famous, "I Win!" topic, started by Nikkis (I believe thats how its spelled). I wasn't around when it started, but I was around from the mid-life of it. Remeber? Half-naked pics from Stuff magazine of girls, and other half-nude chicks. That topic lived for a year, perhaps longer. It was also the biggest topic ever made at NO. Now Xforums (forum that "took over" the NO forums) have topics that big everyday. Who could also not forget Goo? The guy with the Supermaxx Ball Gun, the thumbs up, and the grin that had domo-kuns running from masturbating. A contest was held to making photoshopped pictures of Goo's infamous pic, into something funny. If I had some of those pics saved, or the thread in my favorites, I'd show it, cause that was fricken funny! Lets not pass up Groove's comic, Nerfaholics. If you've been at NO, you should know about Nerfaholics. "So you guys got Nerf guns? You know? Bang bang? Foam darts?" In other words, It's a webcomic about Nerf, with laughs and foam created by Groove. Groove has another webcomic up now, called "Death by Foam" over at Nerf Haven. Its a must check out if you wanna re-live those funny moments. A couple quick more things I'd like to say before I'm done babblin'. Lets not forget, we're still wating on the How-to-make Stefans part 2! And Hal's april fools joke, with the letter from Hasbro, followed by Groove's comic to follow Hal's sinister joke. And the photostories, those were the best! Not that many sites today do those anymore with Nerf. Nerf Online, may you rest in the archive for many years.
