My activism was at its initial stages here. The Timbaktu Collective is a group of activists attempting to create a just and participatory society in India. It is based in the second most arid region of India, Rayalaseema.

The ecological balance has been shattered, traditional rain water harvesting structures (called Cheruvus and Kuntas) destroyed and the Panchayati System of yore has almost disappeared. Children were also unable to attend schools due to economic constraints, as they have to contribute to the family income at a tender age.
