BIO:Shawn Michaels is perhaps the most talented, charismatic, and athletic superstar ever to step into a wrestling ring. He made his World Wrestling Debut in 1989 and teamed with Marty Jannety as The Rockers. The Rockers had a rough beginning, but after paying their dues, they won the Tag Team Championship in 1990 from The Hart Foundation in a 2 out of 3 falls match. In 1992 The Rockers broke up and Shawn pursued a Singles Career.In October of 1992, Shawn began his first IC Title Reign by defeating the British Bulldog on The Saturday Night Main Event. Shawn was a great IC Champ, he defeated all comers, including Marty Jannety at the 1993 Royal Rumble and Tatanka at Wrestlemania IX. Then, on RAW is WAR, he issued a Challenge to anybody who wanted a shot at the Intercontinental Strap. Marty Jannety accepted the challenge, and won the belt with an assist from Mr. Perfect (Curt Hennig). A few weeks later, a revenge-thirst Shawn introduced his new bodyguard, Diesel (Kevin Nash), and Diesel assisted him in winning back the Intercontinental Title. In October, he was then stripped of the belt because he did not defend the title within 30 days after he won it. Shawn would return to the ring a few months later, claiming that he was still the IC Champion, so he challenged the current Champ, Razor Ramon, to a ladder match at Wrestlemania X, and he would end up losing.In August of 1994, Shawn and Diesel won the Tag Team Titles from The Headshrinkers. Then at SummerSlam, Diesel was defending his ICTitle against Razor Ramon, and Shawn missed Razor with a Superkick and accidentally hit Diesel, costing him the IC Strap. A repeat of this happened at Survivor Series, and the team broke up and forfeited the Tag Titles.His next higlight was winning the 1995 Royal Rumble, even though he was the 1st man in the ring. In February of 1995, he introduced his new bodyguard, Sycho Sid. He then got a WWF Title Shot against Diesel, but he lost the match. He then called off his rematch with Diesel the next night on RAW is WAR, with infuriated Sycho Sid, and he was beating on Shawn until Diesel came to his aid and their old friendship was revived. In July of 1995 he defeated Jeff Jarrett to have yet another IC Title Reign. Then in September of 1995, him and Diesel defeated Owen Hart and The British Bulldog for the Tag Team Titles, but their reign was cut short because The British Bulldog was a sub for Yokozuna. In October, in Syracuse, NY, he was attacked by 10 thugs in a bar parking lot, and would not return until the Survivor Series. The next night on RAW is WAR, in a match with Owen Hart, he collapsed in mid-match and was rushed to a local Hospital.His next big moment was at his return to the ring at the 1996 Royal Rumble, where he won it again. The friendship between him and Diesel would once again come to a hault in February 1996 when they were in a Tag Team match against The Underataker and Bret Hart, Diesel clocked Shawn with a chair because Shawn was disappointed in him for hitting Bret and The Undertaker with it previously. Because he had won the Royal Rumble, he got a WWF Title Shot against Bret "The Hitman" Hart at Wrestlemania XII. He defeated Bret for his 1st ever WWF Title Reign! He had a great Title Reign, keeping the strap even after matches against Diesel in an excellent no-holds-barred match, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind, Marty Jannety, The British Bulldog, and Vader. At Survivor Series, in a match against Sycho Sid, Sid hit him with his"Kliq Cam" and won the Title and ended their current friendship. Shawn regained the Title at the 1997 Royal Rumble with Sweet Chin Music , but forfeited the title on RAW, due to a leg injury, that for some reason, he later claimed he faked.He returned in the 1997 King Of The Ring, where he and Stone Cold Steve Austin battled to a draw. He and Austin won the Tag Team Titles in July, but were later stripped of them. Later, at the Pay-Per-View "One Night Only"Shawn came out accompanied by Triple H and Chyna, who would eventualy call themselves D-Generation-X. (The name was to anger Bret Hart, who always referred to Shawn as a "degenerate" because of his cockiness and other antics). In his"Hell In A Cell" match with The Undertaker in October, he was beaten badly, but still came out a winner, because Kane was introduced and Tombstoned The Undertaker and Shawn pinned him. He kept the WWF Title until Wrestlemania XIV, where he wrestled against doctors orders to face Stone Cold Steve Austin, and "Iron"; Mike Tyson turned on him and Austin ended up with the title. He had a serious back injury and decided to take a long break from the WWF.
