Here you will find a little about me and what I'm made of!
I was born in Toronto, Ontario in January of 1969. People ask, "what part of Toronto?" and I tell them that it was downtown at Doctor's Hospital, which has since been closed.
My sister, Dawn, was born in September 1972, also at the same hospital.
My family moved to Newfoundland in October 1974. My dad got a job back home (he is from Twillingate) and jumped at the chance to return to Newfoundland.
In 1979, we moved to Mt. Pearl because dad was promoted to be the manager of the St. John's location of the company he was working for at the time.
Dawn got married in 1995 to Peter and in 1998 gave birth to Benjamen, my favourite (and only) nephew!
I was married in September 2000 but we are now legally separated. She only gave it six months before leaving me in the dark. So guess what... I'm available again! Mothers lock up your daughters!
I work for
of Waterloo, ON, Canada. They are one of the leading suppliers of
automation, electronic and electrical
supplies in the tri-city area of Kitchener - Waterloo - Cambridge.
Now I will tell you about some of my interests.
I like to bowl, play ball hockey and slo-pitch softball.
I have a passion for music and I have been a DJ for many functions in the past.
I love to cook, especially Mexican dishes and chili. Oh yeah, I can't get enough of Barbecue. Mmmmmmmmm
You can sometimes catch me on ICQ. My number is 63989700 if you want to add me. :-)
My Friends Are Important To Me Too
My longest friendship has to be with Paul. We met in 1979 when I moved to Mount Pearl. He's moved around a bit since then but we have always kept in touch. From Mount Pearl, he went to Ontario, back to Newfoundland, back to Ontario, and from there to Nova Scotia. He now lives in Halifax with his wife Joann. I was lucky enough to be the best man at his wedding in 1998. Paul is a damn fine journalist and is now looking for some steady work. Hint, hint to any prospective employers!!
My longtime friend Phil is also one of my best friends. We met through Paul in the early 80's and when Paul moved away we soon became buddies. Phil met Tanya in 1992 and they got married in July of 1999. Guess who was the best man? Yes, it was me again! Phil and Tanya spent a year in northern British Columbia working and we still spanned the miles with telephone contact on a regular basis. Phil is an animal lover as he has a cat, two turtles and a tank full of tropical fish. Recently, Tanya and her twin sister Trina graduated from chef school at Holland College. They are both now gainfully employed in Alberta. Phil is teaching at a Hutterite colony in Alberta. He is the only teacher in a one room school!
Then there's Jason. We met through his sister Jodi who was seeing Phil's brother Brian back in the early 90's! Jason is now married to Terri Lynn and they were married on June 30, 2000. Guess what? I was in HIS wedding party too! His brother is the best man but next came me! Jason and I like to play pool together, watch NHL hockey and have a Black Horse beer every now and again! Jason and Terri are living in Ottawa now because that's where the work and money is! Terri has a daughter named Jessica and she is a precious little girl. Jason loves her dearly and treats her as if she were his own. Now they are expecting their first child together in May 2002! That is great news.
I can't forget Mike. We started out as co-workers back in 1993. He was still only 18 and I was 24. We found that we had some common interests and our friendship bloomed from there. All of a sudden, work became more of a meeting place for friends as Phil joined us in the fold. Mike is a good guy and right now he is currently single and looking (at least he is keeping his options open!) He got laid off from his long time job of 6 years in the fall of 1999 and is currently going to school at SAIT in Calgary, Alberta doing a mapping and surveying course. Best of luck to you bud! He will graduate in the spring of 2002 and from there.... who knows!
