Well, for starters, my name is Dee. I'm a 25 year old chick that works full time as Java Web Application Developer for a great medical software/hardware company in North Kansas City. I just completed my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems at DeVry (March, 2001), so now I'm freaking out over student loans and enjoying the time not spent on school-work!! I live in a really cool house near the Plaza and Westport with my funky little calico kitty, and it's there that I spend too much time on the Internet and playing Diablo II a little too much... :) I love to travel. Take a look at my pictures page to see a bit of my trip to Alaska in 1998. I went to New Orleans for Christmas 2000, and had a total blast. I'll have to make it down there when it's warmer, though - like Mardi Gras time!! I also love food - all food, no discrimination here. I love to cook, and I love to eat out, I love to eat in, I just dig good food! A few years ago, I went on a culinary tour of the Tuscan region of Italy. That was amazing. We went to Le Cordon Bleu of Florence, Italy, and had classes there for a few days, all the while consuming alarming amounts of wine and good food. : ) That's the other part of food that I love - drinks. :) Not that I'm a lush or anything, but I'm a big fan of good wine and beer. (In saying "good" beer, that means that Budwiser is not on my list.) Then there are martinis...and I could go on and on about those...but I'll just leave it at that. I'm also a music freak. I love most sorts of music (as long as it's not country or rap), some of my favorites being: Tori Amos, Dave Matthews, Live, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Enya, Blues Traveler, Concrete Blonde, Enigma, Bjork, as well as a large variety of techno stuff, but not the clubby crap - real techno that takes skill to mix and layer. As much as I love to dance and see live shows, I also dig hanging out on the couch, watching movies. Some of my favorite movies are "Better Off Dead," "Waiting for Guffman," "The Matrix," "The Princess Bride," "Braveheart," "Dream for an Insomniac" (most people don't know that one, but I dig it), and any and all of the Monty Python movies, etc. There's a lot more to me than that, but if you want to know more, you'll just have to email me or send an instant message (on AOL or Yahoo! Messenger) to djeneraat! |
