This page is dedicated to the memory of Virginia Lynn Reed.
Virginia was born in Roane County. She met Hosea H.Reed and they were married August 3.1935.They lived in Parkersburg and both worked at the Viscose Plant. In 1944 they had a son who they named Jack. In 1946 they bought a farm in Ritchie County, where Virginia stayed home and took care of Jack and Hosea worked the farm and was an oil field worker. In October  10,1955 Hosea passed away at the age of 51.Virginia was left to raise Jack by herself. She went to work at the H-P Store in Harrisville.
In  the years she worked at the store, she had a dream of going to Hawaii,so she saved fifty cent pieces and in 1980 the year she retired, she had enough money saved to go to Hawaii.
After Jack and I were married we had four children ,three boys and one girl ,Virginia spent her life spoiling them. Then after she retired she  went on her trip, then settled down to wait on Great Grandchildren(who she wanted to spoil). In August of 1991 she passed away from a stroke. We miss her every day but know she is watching everyone especially those babies.

A grandmother's love is the golden link connecting youth to age.Who cannot recall the fond devotion and the gentle hours spent with a grandmother--one of the best friends God ever  gave us.
