and I’m feeling kind of lonely

Scene: - Joey at the airport waiting at the gate, her flight has already been called but she hasn’t boarded yet.
JOEY (thinking) : "Hmm, it’s funny how for years we analysed movies to death, compared them to reality. And here I am waiting in LA, about to leave LA and leave him and I’m wondering if it’s going to have the typical big Hollywood ending. Somehow I’m expecting him to run in and stop me from leaving. And the strange thing is I don’t even know if this is what I want. The only thing I do know is that I’ve loved him since the age of thirteen. I’ve loved him for about thirteen years and all these feelings I haven’t had for a while have been stirred up. Feelings I’ve tried to suppress. Feelings I can’t suppress. I couldn’t tell him I wanted him to ask me to stay. He has to do that on his own. We’ve agreed to stay in touch but...will it happen?"
AIRLINE WORKER: "Excuse me miss, but we’re about to close the flight. If you want to get this flight you have to board now."
JOEY: "Okay."
Joey picks up her bag and slowly walks to the gate, looking over her shoulder every few seconds. She hands over her ticket and the women looks at her sympathetically. Once Joey is out of sight the woman closes the door and then tidies up for a few minutes. Then she leaves.

Cut to a few minutes later. we see Dawson running through the airport and then standing at the gate watching the plane taxi down the runway.
