Scene: - A little while later. Dawson returns to his office.
A few minutes after he enters Anna walks in with a cup of coffee for him.

ANNA: "Your mother called. You’ve to give her a call as soon as possible."
DAWSON: "You called her didn’t you? She didn’t call!"
ANNA: "Okay so I called her, I thought that she should know. She called, I called it’s the same thing."
DAWSON: "No it’s not. Anna I’m fine. I’m . . ."
ANNA: "Give her a call."

DAWSON: "Okay."
Dawson takes a drink of his coffee and then picks up the phone.
GAIL: "Hello."
DAWSON: "Hi mum."
GAIL: "I hoped that it was you. How are you?"
DAWSON: "Mom!!"
GAIL: "Dawson don’t mom me."
DAWSON: "I’m fine. Couldn’t be better."
GAIL: "Dawson?! Tell me the truth!"
DAWSON: "I’m not fine. It just brought back so many memories."
GAIL: "And how is James?"
DAWSON: "I think that he’s still in shock. I know how that feels. I just wish that things could have been different." Should he tell her about Joey?
GAIL: "I know you do honey."
DAWSON: "I saw her today."
I walk around trying to understand
GAIL: "Who?"
DAWSON: "Joey."
GAIL: "Are you sure it was her?"
DAWSON: "She was standing in my office, I think that I’m pretty sure that it was Joey."
GAIL: "Wait, she isn’t the interior designer?"
DAWSON: "Yep."
GAIL: "Anna mentioned you seeing an interior designer but she never said a name."
DAWSON: "That’s because we didn’t have a name and she was supposed to be seeing James."
GAIL: "How was it?"
DAWSON: "Painful. At one point I just wanted to reach out and kiss her."

GAIL: "You still love her?"
DAWSON: "Yes."
GAIL: "Listen do you want me or your father to come out there for a while?"
DAWSON: "No, it’s okay. I’ll get through this."
GAIL: "Okay honey. I’ll speak to you later."
DAWSON: "Bye."
She hangs up the phone.
MITCH: "How is he?"
GAIL: "Joey’s in LA."
MITCH: "Oh. He has to have this giant wound opened again and Joey just happens to be there at the same time! What are the chances of that?"
GAIL: "I’d say one in a billion."
Scene: - Joey reading Dawson’s script.
Scene: - Street scene, late at night. Meg and Amy.
MEG: "Hey Amy, what did Maria say Lee was doing tonight?"
AMY: "Ah, something about an ice hockey game with the lads."
MEG: "Well it’s not exactly ice hockey but hockey all the same. Look." Points to Lee who is playing an intense game of tonsil hockey with some blonde. "I think we’ve got a good mind to go do him some bodily harm."
AMY: "No, come on before he sees us."
Angle change. Camera moves so that Amy and Meg are walking away from the kissing couple. Once they turn the corner, the couple stop kissing and we see that it is Roxy he was kissing. Then the scene fades.
Scene: - Joey’s hotel room.

BESSIE: "So how’s LA?"
JOEY: "Dawson’s here."
BESSIE: "You always knew that Dawson would be in LA, but how are you liking LA?"
JOEY: "You don’t understand what I meant. I saw Dawson."
BESSIE: "Are you sure?"
JOEY: "I was standing in his office, I’m sure that it was Dawson."
BESSIE: "How was it?"
JOEY: "Ironic. I came here to see the assistant not knowing anything about the director and I end up seeing Dawson."
BESSIE: "How come?"
JOEY: "Oh this is where the ironic part comes in. I see Dawson because his assistant is on a leave of absence. He’s on a leave of absence because his girlfriend had a miscarriage."

BESSIE: "Oh Joey."
JOEY: "It just kind of propelled me back to when it happened to me. Bess I don’t know if I’ll be able to cope with being here, seeing Dawson again and being reminded of what has happened. It’s just too much."
BESSIE: "Joey you can get through this. Maybe even get some of your friendship with Dawson back."
JOEY: "The friendship part was never the problem, it was everything that wasn’t about the friendship."
BESSIE: "And how is he?"
JOEY: "I think that he’s reliving it too. I walked in on him on the phone to his assistant James. He was talking about us. He was trying to comfort James but he sounded pained."
BESSIE: "When are you seeing him again?"
ooh - - - - can’t let you go
JOEY: "Tomorrow. He’s given me his script to look at. To see if it gives me any ideas. I was just taking a break from reading it just now. Bessie he’s finally did it, he’s making his own movie."
BESSIE: "Is it any good?"
JOEY: "How could you even ask that question? It’s like everything else Dawson does, it’s great."
BESSIE: "Really?"
JOEY: "I’d send you a copy but I’m not allowed to discuss it with anyone, let alone send anyone a copy."
BESSIE: "I’ll just have to call him up then and get the scoop myself."
JOEY: "Just you do that. See ya Bessie."
BESSIE: "Bye Joey."
Joey goes back to reading Dawson’s script.
