Scene: - Andie, Jen and Joey’s. The next day.
If you see me walking down the street
staring at the sky, and dragging my two feet
you just pass me by, it still makes me cry
but you can make me whole again

and if you see me with another man
laughing and joking, doing what I can
I won’t put you down, ‘coz I want you around

Jen and Joey are having breakfast, while Andie is in the shower. Joey is telling Jen what happened between Andie and Pacey.

JEN: “He just forgot?”
JOEY: “Apparently so.”
JEN: “It couldn’t have helped having me being with Pacey. God if I could just take that whole thing back. . .”
JOEY: “That seems to be getting said a lot these past few days.”
JEN: “She walked in on us kissing once. Did you know that? Have you any idea how painful it is to see an ex kissing someone else when you still have feelings for them? And especially when it’s someone you know.”
JOEY: “Yes I know how that feels.”
JEN: “There’s the whole you and Dawson after me and Dawson.”
JOEY: “And Dawson and Eve. Oh and Gretchen and Dawson.”
JEN: “But then these things work both ways.”
JOEY: “The whole me and Pacey thing or me and Jack.”
JEN: “God we’ve fairly been about within this group haven’t we?”
JOEY: “I’ll say. So what are your plans for the summer?”
JEN: “I think that I’m going to go to New York for a week. See some friends, maybe even visit my parents. Then I was hoping to go see grams in Capeside. What about you?”
JOEY: “I don’t really have any plans. I’ll probably just sit about waiting for Dawson to get back from LA. I’ll have too much planning for the wedding to do. Then there’s that little project that I’m doing for my degree. Well it’s not really a project, it’s my internship for the summer.”
Then the door goes.

Scene: - Five minutes later.

Andie has come out of the bathroom, she is now dressed but her hair is still wet.
ANDIE (to herself) : “That’s funny I could have sworn they had said they would wait on me. Where had they gone and without saying goodbye. And who was that at the door?”

time is laying heavy on my heart
seems I’ve got too much of it
since we’ve been apart
my friends make me smile
if only for a while
you can make me whole again

She then enters her bedroom, to find Pacey sitting on her bed.
PACEY: “Hey McPhee.”
ANDIE: “Pacey, what are you doing here?”
PACEY: “I’ve decided we really need to talk.”
ANDIE: “I told you before there’s nothing to say.”
PACEY: “Well I think that there is. I think that it’s about time I told you the truth.”
ANDIE: “The truth about what?”
PACEY: “The truth about what happened that night.”
ANDIE: “It was me who told you remember.”
PACEY: “Yes you reminded me that that happened. But there’s a lot more to it. There’s stuff you don’t know.”

ANDIE: “And what stuff is that?”
PACEY: “I didn’t really forget about it happening.”
ANDIE: “You didn’t? But you let me think that you had drunk too much, that you couldn’t remember it.”
PACEY: “Well I sorta did forget. Look Andie at the moment I’m not really making any sense. Just hear me out. I had planned the whole thing.”
ANDIE: “You had planned on sleeping with me and then forgetting all about it?”
PACEY: “Yes. No. Yes to the first part and no to the second part. I had been wanting to do that to you for so long. To kiss you and stuff. But I could never pluck up enough courage to do it. So the only way I could do it was to get drunk. It wasn’t the drink talking Andie, it was me.”
ANDIE: “Pacey you don’t have to do this to spare my feelings. Pretend that you remember, make up a story.”

PACEY: “Why do you think that I’m making it all up? I left that T-shirt out on the off-chance that you would be staying and I would just take it from there. And you looked so sexy that night that I knew that if I didn’t do something then I would regret it. But when I woke up the next morning and you weren’t there, well I convinced myself that it had all been a dream. That you hadn’t even come back to the apartment with me.”
ANDIE: “Pacey . . ”
PACEY: “No, let me finish. You had been right that night. I had been very organized. But the only person that I had planned on seducing that night was you.” At this point tears start to fall from her eyes, as she realises he really does remember, using her own words.

PACEY: “I don’t think that I really stopped loving you, and we’ve all been spending so much time together that I started to think of us again. And when you didn’t say anything I thought it was all a dream. And I thought that I’d missed my chance. So I just tried to move on. I want to stop moving Andie. I want us to be together again. I think that we should try again.”
He wipes away the tears that are running down her face and then leans down and kisses her. She doesn’t respond at first but then she kisses him back.
