Scene - after Joey leaves
Andie goes to the girls room to see if Joey is there, but finds no Joey. She enters the elevator and checks in the lobby, still no Joey. She decides to look outside and then goes to tell the others that there is no sign of Joey.
Scene - Dawson, Jack and Pacey’s room.
my hearts breakin’ even, now there’s no use we even try
PACEY: “What do you mean she’s not there, she isn’t in the hotel??”
Scene - JFK International Airport.
We see Joey checking in at the airport and then a little later she is sitting in the departure lounge.
Scene - Elevator doors open
Everyone exits. Andie goes to the reception desk and asks the clerk if there are any messages for her.
Guys, I’m not really up to facing Dawson at the moment. And I need some time to think things over, so I’ve gone back to Boston. Please don’t let this spoil your vacation, try and enjoy yourselves. I would just have ruined it for everyone if I had stayed. See you all soon. J.
We remain,
Dawson gives the note to Pacey and then he walks out of the hotel. Andie follows.
Outside - Dawson and Andie.
go on get on with your life, yeah and i’ll get on with mine
DAWSON: “God, what have I done?? Andie, what have I done??”
Scene - JFK international Airport.
We see Joey boarding her flight and then shortly after, the plane takes off.
Scene: - Dawson on the phone.
DAWSON: “I was booked on the afternoon flight tomorrow for Boston from JFK, is it possible to switch that flight to sometime today??”
Scene - Dawson, Jack and Pacey’s room.
Dawson starts to pack his clothes, the suit he wore the night before at dinner, his PJ’s. He then comes across the jumper that he wore the night that they had arrived. He smiles as he picks it up and holds it close. He can still smell her scent, his Joey. It is mixed in with her favourite perfume, CK contradiction. He then remembers how they managed to sneak out that night for a late night walk.
*Flashback

JOEY: “I was gonna go catch up on my beauty sleep and I think that you should go and do the same.”
i try to watch a movie but you’re all that i can see
Dawson then folds the jumper and continues to pack his stuff. Just as he finishes Pacey enters the room.
PACEY: “Is that everything packed.”
everything i touch turns to blue
PACEY: “As a matter of fact it’s someone you know very well, it’s Jen.”
Scene :- Aboard flight AA329, New York to Boston.

We see a close up of Dawson as the pilot speaks.
Scene: - A street in Boston, just outside Joey’s.
Dawson had just called Andie and had gotten her to call their apartment to see if Joey was in. Andie had called him back telling him that there was no answer.
What can I do without you baby
Dawson walks up to the door, inserts the key and walks in. He checks Joey’s room, she isn’t there but her bag is, so he knows she’s been home. He goes into Andie’s room, closes the door and takes a few things out of his bag.
About 15 minutes later Dawson hears a key in the door, she’s home.
It still feels like our first night together
She goes over to the window and sits down, she hears music but doesn’t realise it’s coming from within the apartment.

Once she realises that the music is inside the apartment. She goes into the hall, it’s coming from the C.D player in Andie’s room. Looking closely she sees that the stereo was on alarm mode. But why had Andie set the alarm, and why of all songs is it their song that is playing.
Please forgive me - i know not what i do
As she turns the music off the song somehow continues. This time it is coming from her room. She goes into her room and sees some lit candles and a vase containing lilies (her favourite). Then Dawson enters her room.
Still feels like our best times are together

DAWSON: “You asked me a question last night that we never got around to discussing. And I’m not going to say that I never gave you an answer because I was shocked, even though I was. And I’m not going to say that it was because I didn’t have an answer, even though you never gave me the chance to say anything. Because lets face it, I could have come to you last night. The reason I didn’t, couldn’t answer you, was because more than anything, I was scared. I was scared of what this meant and more than anything, of what it would do to us. (At this point Joey’s eyes start to water up). We wouldn’t just be friends, or boyfriend and girlfriend. And we wouldn’t just be lovers, soulmates. We’d be more than that, we’d be agreeing to be more, we’d be agreeing to be everything. And it wasn’t that I’d never thought about us getting married. Because I never had a problem with that part. From the age of fifteen it was always you. Even when we weren’t together. (Joey then smiles). When you were with Pacey and I was with Gretchen. Joey do you know that I thought of it that much, so much that it scares me. So much that it hurt. Even last night I still didn’t have an answer. And after analysing us, like nobody’s business it hit me, at about 7am this morning. I’m not content with what I have. I don’t want you as my friend or lover. My Joey, my soulmate. My everything. I want you as my wife and more than anything else I want you. So I guess you can see were this is going.”

Dawson takes out a small box, opens it and removes the ring. He gets down on one knee and asks the question.
He then puts his hand in his pocket and pulls out the ring that Joey bought.

The scene then finishes with Dawson and Joey in bed sleeping, he has his arms around her and she has her back to him.
Scene: - The next morning - Boston.
We see a taxi pull up outside Joey’s, then we see a shot of the door from inside the apartment. The door then opens and Jen, Andie, Jack and Pacey walk in.

ANDIE: “I never looked for a note in our room, just Joey. But lets go check.”
Everyone goes to the girls room but no one finds a note.

Andie takes the note and reads it, then she gives the note to Dawson.

DAWSON: “I don’t know, but I should have went to her. I should have said something.”
ANDIE: “The only thing that you could have said was ‘Yes’. But you weren’t sure. You had to think things over.”
DAWSON: “I could have at least told her what I was thinking. And despite my needing to think things over, I do love her.”
ANDIE: “I’m sure she knows that you do.”
DAWSON: “But what if she doesn’t ?? what if this is it?? It’s over.”
ANDIE: “Don’t say that.”
DAWSON: “I need to go.” (walks back into the hotel, Andie follows).
ANDIE: “Go where??”
DAWSON: “To Joey, to Boston. I need to see her.”
ANDIE: “Before you go (she stops Dawson), If you’re going to tell her Yes, make sure that your saying it for the right reasons. Make sure that you’re saying it because you mean it. Not just because you don’t want to lose her. In the end it wouldn’t be good for the both of you. It’s not the path to take.”
DAWSON: “Andie I won’t, I just need to talk to her.” He turns to leave but then turns back to Andie. ”She’s not going to let me in when I turn up at her door is she??”
ANDIE: “Probably not, I’ll give you my key”.
DAWSON: “I’m gonna go call the airline to see when the next flight to Boston is”.

CLERK: “Yes, your new ticket will be waiting at the check-in desk, and you will be required to exchange your old ticket for this one. Can I have your name please.”
DAWSON: “The name is Leery. Could you also tell me when the last flight left for Boston?”
CLERK: “That flight left approximately fifteen minutes ago.”

We see Dawson and Joey walking down Broadway, as they make their way to Time Square. We see them holding hands while they talk. Every so often they stop and kiss and cuddle, although there is a lot more kissing than cuddling. They then walk back to their hotel again. When they are outside the hotel they just stand for ages cuddling and stealing passionate kisses. Finally they went inside and Dawson walks Joey to her room. As she turns to open the door Dawson grabs her arm and spins her around.
DAWSON: “And just were do you think you are going??”

DAWSON: “Really (leans in and kisses Joey) And just what are you trying to say? (He then puts on his puppy dog hurt face).”

DAWSON: “Said what??”
JOEY: “Bed (kisses Dawson again) I’m tired. See you in the morning.”
DAWSON: “Night Joey (He kisses her).”
JOEY: “Night Dawson (She kisses him and then enters her room).”
End Flashback

DAWSON: “Just about. Pacey I’ve just realised that through all of this I haven’t asked how you are about this, about me and Joey.”

DAWSON: “What, you mean with you and Julie?”
PACEY: “As a matter of fact no, I’m with someone else now. I finished with her before we left Boston.”
DAWSON: “So who’s the new girl then?”

DAWSON: “I suppose when you think about it, it doesn’t really surprise me. Wow, this has certainly been some weekend. (Looks at his watch) It’s about time I left for the airport.”
PACEY: “Are you going to go straight to Joey’s?”
DAWSON: “Yeah, I can’t think of going anywhere else until I’ve seen Joey, until we’ve talked things over.”

Dawson checks the time on his watch. It won’t be long now until he sees Joey.

All she can think about is how handsome he looks, he hasn’t shaved this morning and he really suits the rugged look. Dawson walks to Joey, takes her hand and guides her over to her bed. They both sit down.
